I liked this volume simply non as much of the first and a lot of that is because I felt in some ways like I was still reading Kenna's story and not Dani'south. I also recall the writer starting to realize this and sent Kenna off scene and then the focus could actually shift to Dani.

I liked this book merely not every bit much of the first and a lot of that is because I felt in some ways like I was however reading Kenna's story and not Dani'due south. I as well think the author starting to realize this and sent Kenna off scene so the focus could actually shift to Dani.

My biggest result was I didn't like Mo/Dani together at all. I brutal in love with Mo's character in the first book and I judge I was just expecting more for him. I'm not saying I don't like Dani just the romance was rushed and I didn't get a real sense of the chemistry between the two characters.

I have to also let folks know who listen to the audiobook that one/fifth of the book is spent on a single flashback and much of that flashback was told in the showtime book. This was a really hard matter to get through as an audiobook because I felt like I had heard it all earlier and it took abroad from the electric current story.

I know a lot of folks had issues with the cliffhanger ending. I didn't considering Kenna and Dani have been the ii leads for this scenario and the cliffhanger setup the third volume to be able to focus on someone else. I just hope the writer tin can pull it off.

This whole series is just fantastic, it was a pleasure to read each and every book. The characters, main and secondary, are all wonderfully drawn. Some are hilarious, like the old ladies who own the B&B and cafe in boondocks. My favorite thing well-nigh the Bluegrass serial is how well each book ties into the side by side in the series.

The southern flavor in these books is spot on and delicious. I'm looking frontwards to reading other serial past this author for sure! Put Risky Shot on your must read list!

Mo was already take in love with Dani before she even arrived in Keeneston, just when he saw her he just knew she was the one!

The Cliffhanger at the end of this book is probably one of the best.

A good 2nd volume in the series. I enjoyed going back and seeing the events in New York from Dani'due south perspective. We knew the information from book 1 when we saw things happen from Kenna's perspective, but seeing the same events through different eyes was good.

I enjoyed meeting Mo in book 1 and learning about his matrimony deal with his father. It was nice to encounter him fall in love with Dani and not only fulfill his requirements, merely truly discover someone he loved. It did seem a footling far fetched that Dani'south father and Mo's father knew each other fifty-fifty though they were from different countries and had only done business over the telephone. At present they encounter confront to face in the The states in Mo's house after Dani and Mo accept fallen in dearest. A petty unbelievable.

Seeing Dani practicing her self defense with the Davies brothers was a nice manner to introduce united states of america to Paige's brothers (therefore setting upwards more books in the series). Dani really is faced with lots of concrete trauma during this book, only remains strong.

Of course, it was great to see prior characters like the Rose sisters and continue to meet Volition & Kenna (and their wedding) plus learn more about Paige. Again, some other good set up for more in the series.

This book was a big allow downwardly. First reason is that I actually really like Mo and Dani but there was very little romance between them. Overall the series was a disappointment. I did not like that the writer didn't disclose that the books were not standalone. Their "big thriller" in the first book carries through the series and the 2nd books ends in a cliffhanger. With exception to book three, the romances seem like a side plot. Equally much as I liked Mo and Dani (second volume) at that place was hardly any romance. It seemed similar a whirilwind romance which was definitely disappointing since they are my favorite couple in the series. The people y'all meet in the town are the best part of the book. I initially had a hard time recalling all the towns people but they really made the book enjoyable, especially the Rose sisters. It was the beloved of the people that kept me reading the series.

I really enjoyed Blue Grass State of Mind where we met McKenna and Will. McKenna saw her young man and a bunch of high ranking politicians in a bit of a precarious situation and went on the run when they tried to silence her. Earlier hit the road, she told her friend everything that happened. That friend being Dani, stayed behind to try to get as much dirt and information as she could before she met up with McKenna. Risky Shot is Dani's story and if I'k being completely honest, it was a big 50 I really enjoyed Blue Grass Land of Mind where we met McKenna and Volition. McKenna saw her young man and a agglomeration of high ranking politicians in a fleck of a precarious situation and went on the run when they tried to silence her. Before striking the road, she told her friend everything that happened. That friend existence Dani, stayed backside to attempt to go as much dirt and information equally she could earlier she met upward with McKenna. Risky Shot is Dani's story and if I'one thousand beingness completely honest, it was a large let down.

We got to see a bit of what Dani went through while she remained behind in New York. Betwixt living in her car, in homesless shelters, and being chased all over the city, she has been living a rough life. When she finally makes it into the pocket-sized boondocks where McKenna is hiding out, she's immediately embraced by the locals. I think, for me, seeing all these strangers take Dani in and protect her was by far the all-time office of the story. That and when a bunch of older women toting shot guns held off a predator until authorities could arrive. That was pretty awesome.

All the same, the story jumped ahead and didn't really give you lot any sense of depth. Dani's love interest is Mo, someone nosotros sort of see in the previous book. However, he might as well take notwithstanding been a secondary graphic symbol in this novel. They become out on one appointment and all of a sudden they are in love, and she's just waltzing into his house similar she lives there. They relationship progressed way as well fast and it came out of nowhere. Non only did I have a problem with the pacing of their relationship, merely the story itself would spring ahead from situation to the next inside the same chapter, with little warning. Fourth dimension seemed to speed by and it left no fourth dimension for me to get any grasp on the characters.

With that being said, there are a bunch of errors in the book. There was even a part in the book where Dani's parents are just hanging out in Mo's house, without him even knowing. They show up to his business firm, get within the forepart door, first making out, and all all of a sudden Dani's father is yelling at Mo for molesting his daughter. I am so dislocated equally to why her parent'south were just hanging out in his firm. He had never met them before, they had no idea who he was, and the whole thing but seemed misplaced. I kept thinking mayhap I misread something and they were really at the B&B or something but after a few times reading the scene, I realized her parents were simply randomly creeping around in her boyfriends house.

This could have been a really great addition to the storyline but it's random pacing and grammatical errors left me wanting to put it downwards more than times than not. I didn't connect with the characters, I didn't like or sympathize their romance, and I just felt like the book never told Dani's story. This ends on a rather big cliffhanger but even that tin can't push me to read the side by side book in the serial.

Dani tells Kenna and the others what she learned when she stayed in New York instead of running equally Kenna told her to do. Only Dani is stronger and was determined to find out more about the people behind the crime to become a feeling what is really going on and it is worse then Kenna thought. Powerful people are involved and determined to silence Kenna and Dani forever. Chad is yet on the loose and out to get them and Amanuensis Parker is scrambling for show to finally get all those people behind confined. Of grade there is besides a romantic angle in the story when Dani meets Sheik Mohtadi Ali Rahmen who is Kenna's neighbor and very adept friend. We all know most the 'bachelorettes' Mo's father is sending regularly to get his son to finally marry one of the women he has chosen for him. It's practically dear at first sight but not without obstacles which was funny to read because Dani is no button over.

Another good volume with a very cruel cliffhanger. I'm very glad that the third volume is already published considering I'm dying to know what happens next. Once more a five star read for me. Keep them coming, Kathleen!!

I liked that with this book we got to see how Dani was surviving while in NYC in the aftermath. Sounds like she was both brave and stupid in her actions. Risky Shot is the second book in Kathleen Brooks' Bluegrass Serial and this book end with a humdinger of a cliff hanger, not since "who shot JR" practice I remember a cliff hanger similar this ane. I'll admit though if I'd had to look more than two minutes to read the side by side book, it probably would have ticked me off then I'm kind of glad I discovered these when the next book was already out! That's not to say this isn't a skillful book, because it is but you'll want to have book iii loaded and set to get when you finish this one.

Danielle (Dani) De Luca is Kenna's friend from New York. She finally makes information technology to Kentucky and arrives with a slight chip on her shoulder when she finds Kenna living in the lap of luxury while she'due south been reduced to living out of her automobile. In this volume, we go to relive Dani's life as she stayed backside in New York to gather information when Kenna fled. I beloved stiff female characters and Dani is ane smart, tough lady. I found myself amazed by her deportment and scared to death for her at the same fourth dimension. Dani gains the respect of everyone involved with solving the case against Kenna's ex-boyfriend and boss. She also catches the heart of Mo; every bit you lot might retrieve is a Shiek who runs a horse ranch next to Kenna and Volition.

Things really escalate in this book with the ongoing example plus Mo'south parents arrive and his father is rude and cavalier to Dani. He wants Mo to marry someone from their country but Mo has his sight set up on Dani. Dani's parents come to visit just to add to the mayhem and in add-on more unsavory characters have arrived in town also. Nosotros also encounter more of Kenna'southward friend Paige and her 5 brothers in this book and that's a really, really good thing!

Risky Shot is a great addition to this series, and while Dani and Mo's developing relationship is an of import piece of this story the investigation of the crimes Kenna and Dani witnessed in New York is given equal time. I'm actually surpised at how circuitous this story line is and amazed at the lengths people go to in social club to encompass upwardly their transgressions. Equally I stated above, the ending to this book is a cliffhanger, you've been warned and I can guarantee you lot'll be reaching immediately for book three.

Second function of the Bluegrass trilogy is nearly as wonderful as the first one. I loved the characters and the style the story is told. In the kickoff few chapters the story from the first book is retold from Danielle's perspective and continues then with the shift to Danielle and Mo as principal characters instead of Kenna and Will though all the characters from the get-go book are still in the centre of the story.

Kathleen Brooks is back with her second book from Bluegrass Series. Her first book was Bluegrass State of Listen. Risky Shot is her second book in the row. Her stories revolve around stiff female protagonist with a alloy of romance and thriller and a pinch of sense of humor and happy-endings. Her Bluegrass Series and Bluegrass Brothers Series feature small-scale town amuse with quirky characters while her Women of Ability Series draw that behind a sexy billionaire is a man strong enough to beloved her!

Risky Shot is most Danielle De Luca, a story from her shoes and virtually her struggles. So far she had survived without the comforts of her wealthy family. In the anticipation of events that being a witness of a horrific crime , she finds her life spinning and out of command equally some of the nation's biggest power are trying to end information technology. In the quest of survival , she escapes her manner back to small town of Keeneston from New York.

Equally a prince of small nation of Rahmi , Mohtadi Ali Rahman went against his father's wishes and followed his centre by moving to Keeneston , Kenstuky. He finds his love involvement in Danielle , who arrives in Keeneston with killers on her heels. Their connection is instant. Now it is upon Mohtadi whether to cull his heart or to walk abroad with the decision of his family. And the story continues….

This is her second book in the row , of the offset being the Bluegrass State of Mind. Danielle De Luca , beingness an ex-beauty queen is not at all of what she seems like. She leaves New York city off the criminals tracking to destroy her. She escapes her way dorsum in Keeneston , Kenstucky to make her last stand by her best friend McKenna Mason.
While in Keeneston she develops a constant connexion with Mohtadi who owns a horse farm here. Tin can Mohtadi protect Danielle from powerful men in New York? Or volition Danielle save the prince from his rigid loveless fate?

Later on reading Bluegrass Country of Mind , I got my hands on this book . The book had a slow commencement. The book starts off at the betoken where Bluegrass State of mind end ; Danielle De Luca arrives on McKenna'south doorstep. It makes the readers wonder on how she must have protected herself and survived through those months when McKenna was away.
After getting separated from the incident on McKenna's 29th birthday and the being a witness to horrific incident at Greendale and Thompson. In apprehension of the events where-in McKenna escapes her way back to Keeneston , Danielle manages to stay low-key in New York , trying to hide her identity and gathering bear witness against the criminals.

After she arrives in Keeneston she works with the FBI and the police force-enforcement authority to track down the bad guys. She survives all the discomforts and endures the pain by sacrificing each twenty-four hour period by disguising herself and hiding her identity.

She develops an instant connection with Mohtadi Ali Rahman , who becomes her romantic involvement. Mohtadi had been an ultimatum by his father to marry someone of his choice or he shall have agree for an bundled union organized by his father. When criminals track down Danielle , their happiness is threatened.

The story-line is intricate and the book ends in a cliff-hanger. Reading Risky Shot is fun and it keeps you engaged. The book is based on supporting characters like Danielle and Mohtadi. It intrigues me plenty on reading how smartly Danielle manages to disguise her identity and escapes from the dungeons of the criminals who are trying to trace her presence ; being a daughter born in a wealthy family she makes her ain way.

The book is highly recommended for readers who are fond of reading adventures thrill. Overall it'south an average volume , I enjoyed reading it. Reading this book is always fun , drowning into oblivion of world of Keeneston. I see myself reaching out for the 3rd book ie. Dead Heat.

Major cliffhanger

I really dislike cliffhangers, but I still gave this book 5 stars because I bask the setting, the writing, the characters, the suspense, and the romance. It has some unique and lovable characters. But of course I'm forced to get the adjacent book to run into what happens to the 2 principal characters in this series. And they amend not die!!!!!

Risky Shot (Bluegrass Serial Book ii)

The love story of Danielle and Mo. Danielle has come to Keeneston, Kentucky and she is a niggling upset with Kenna. She think Kenna had it piece of cake. Kenna has caring friends and a rich young man while she had nix. Now she meets Mo and things modify. Great story.

I really didn't enjoy this one! I loved the first one only falling in dearest and getting engaged in 2/2,5 weeks is so unrealistic! It was all and so hurried and I kept feeling liked I'd somehow missed a chunk of the book! Despite the cliff hanger I'thousand not reading the last one, I had to force myself to end this one!

quick and disappointed

The story picked upwardly smoothly with the first book. It then became a dizzy love story with a very disappointing end....leaves you hanging without management. I hope the third book wraps it all upward.
